Welcome to A Bloom in Winter!

at last…

More than a year ago, I claimed this site, fully intending to begin this conversation.  As I replaced last year’s calendar, I felt that proverbial “kick in the pants,” reminding me that this moment is as good a time as any and that time, it was,  “a wastin’!”   So, here I am… at last.

I’m a 63-year-old, silver-haired  woman, two years retired after a quarter century in the working world.   I’m a follower of Jesus, a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin (to many) and friend actively engaged in this life and all its possibilities.  I am a reader, a walker and an adventurer.   I am  determined to embrace  every moment I am given on this earth, unhindered by what this world may deem appropriate and necessary for a woman  “of a certain age. ”

The seasons of my life have been filled with ups and downs, successes and failures, sorrows and joys, starts and finishes.    As I enter the winter of my life, I am as excited as I’ve ever been about the future.   I look forward to traveling forward and  hope you’ll join me, as we explore together what it means to live  with vitality, hope and confidence through every season, and ultimately to be A Bloom in Winter.
